Fix: Google - Verify It's You Just Spinning (YouTube App)

Update Fix: Until Google Resolves - On your mobile device where you are logged into the YouTube app, completely log out and remove your account. Then, re-login to Google in browser and it will default to the 2nd authentication method, most likely a text or call.


Trying to do the Google push verification from my YouTube app on my phone, but the YouTube app keeps spinning. No other ways to verify either....

Google sent a notification to your iPhone. Open the YouTube app, tap Yes on the prompt, then tap XX on your phone to verify it’s you.

Happening to me too, for two weeks now. I can't use the SMS option as I am overseas. Beyond frustrating!
I previously had issues with the Google Authenticator as it had to be deleted from my phone and there is no way to add it back without the QR code etc. etc. so that is not an option for me either.

Followed the "fix" still not working. After doing everything, google is not sending me any SMS on any of my registered phones. It used to work not anymore and I cannot access my account.

You would think after awhile the spin would stop and come up with some kind of an error message.

This is how I fixed it:

1. Go to General->iPhone Storage->YouTube and click Delete App. You'll be asked whether or not you want to keep the subscription - I clicked Keep.
2. Go to App Store and reinstall YouTube app.
